ALL CAME TO WORSHIP
ALL BUT ONE LITTLE ONE

A sweet time
I had in worship
Greeted
I was warmly and with "love"
for I was a stranger in their midst
Someone who just came to be loved
and to know God
It worked until my identity they did know
and everything stopped

A little girl
I met that day at the end of the church lot
6 years old and full of wonder
She spoke to me as if I was not a stranger to her
She spoke to me of her friends
and how they were busy on this day
She treated me with kindness
even though she knew not who I was
but I do believe that if she had known
she would have still loved me
Somehow I know
because I still see the beauty and innocence in her eyes
She hasn't been taught to hate those
who speak the Truth
and hopefully she never will be
I thought her place would have been in the Sunday School room
and I even invited her to attend that church
but now I know she is right where she belongs
outside the walls
outside the judgment
outside the conditional "love"
OUTSIDE
where God can still touch her
I claimed her for the Kingdom
Maybe she will grow up as one who speaks the Truth, too
Maybe I will see her again
I want to

Shalom, little one
Thanks for the lesson
I have learned it well
Nothing has changed within the walls
not enough to bring innocent ones like you and I inside
We'll stay outside and God will still find us
The love we know will be real and
last forever

UPDATE:
I emailed the Pastor of this church
about the little girl I met in the parking lot
He told me that they were fully aware of her
but that they did not invite her
because her parents didn't want to come, also
But, oh my Pastor
if only you knew the Secret of the Kingdom
It's the children that truly lead the adults
If only you had the courage
to ask if she could come anyway
but you follow your church rules
and only invite those who can come
and bring money
You lost, young Pastor
but the Kingdom won't
God will surely gather in His children
to Himself and He will begin a "church"
which has no rules
just love and His Presence
