THE PORTLAND CITY COUNCIL LIFTS A CAP ON SUNNYSIDE METHODIST'S ASSEMBLIES
AND REVIVES THE CHURCH'S MEALS PROGRAM
PORTLAND, OREGON ---
The Portland City Council on Wednesday afternoon unanimously overturned a controversial ruling limiting attendance at a Southwest Portland church and Wednesday evening tentatively voted to allow the church meals program to continue.
.... Included in the proposal is a recommendation for creation of a faith-based advisory board of religious-community members that would help Sunnyside Methodist and other churches coordinate services to homeless and low-income people.
