GO!

ON THE STREETS

Where
are the four walls?
Where
are the pews?
Where
are the ushers?

I'm standing
on a street corner
downtown
Portland, Oregon

I'm out of my
"comfort zone"!

I answered
GOD'S Call
to join
the "street ministry"
and yet
I find myself
COMPLETELY
out of my element!
"GOD, HELP ME!!!!!!"

I'm uncomfortable
approaching people
to talk to or hand out tracks
I wait and watch....

I make another request
"GOD, have people approach me
if I'm to talk to them"

I thought
that would be a safe request
I put the responsibility
back into GOD'S Hands
After all, this was
HIS IDEA!
I relax, knowing that I will
just
be watching the others
tonight~~

A young man approaches me
and asks me if I know how
he can get off drugs
He's tried religion and programs
I ask if I can pray for him

At 1st
He seems taken off guard
but states that he made his last drug deal
on this same corner
So, he shouldn't be embarrassed
to be prayed for here

My friends
join me in prayer
for
STRENGTH
POWER
RELEASE
from bondage
LIFE
the very
PRESENCE
of GOD
in
his
life!!!

THE HOLY SPIRIT
"falls"
upon him
and he begins
to fall backwards
We hold him up
and
continue to pray
He got a good
"DOSE OF THE HOLY GHOST"!!!

As we're praying for him
A young woman approaches us
and kneels by my feet
She continues to cry out
"I want Jesus!"

I turn and pray for her
She shakes, trembles, smiles
She was TOUCHED, too!
THIS IS CHURCH!
GOD
IS
HERE!!!

GOD
You surprised me again!
I thought
I gave You an impossibility
so I wouldn't be called upon
to trust You!
But, isn't this the way
it is suppose to be?
I just make myself available
no
striving
no
performance
and watch You work
Your MIRACLES!
You know
my personality
I'm uncomfortable
approaching people
but that didn't limit
Your Plans and Purposes
for the evening!

Have I told You today how
INCREDIBLY
FAITHFUL
YOU ARE?

Forgive me
for keeping You
confined
within
the four walls
of my home and church

IT'S TIME TO LET YOU OUT!!!

It's time
to share
the Abundance
of the Kingdom!

It's time
to let You meet
the needs of the hungry, the poor
and the desperate
who don't feel comfortable
in church buildings!
Bring me out
of my "comfort zone"
into their world
and maybe
I can make "church"
more comfortable
for them!

LET'S HAVE CHURCH, GOD!!!
on any
street corner
in any
tavern
at any
bus stop
any
place
You choose!!!

Remind me
to invite
Your
PRESENCE
Your
POWER
Your
GRACE
to go
with me
wherever
I go to
TOUCH
Your people!

I thought
I wanted the security
of
the walls
the pews
the melodic music
but
I LOVE
THE ADVENTURE
OF
SETTING PEOPLE
FREE!!!

SET ME FREE
TO
FULLY EXPERIENCE
YOU
WHEREVER
I
GO
!!!
