THE DAY BLEEDS . . .

“. . .the day bleeds into nightfall”

And we wonder when it will end

The blood stains

Are signs of our rebellion
Our callousness toward God and man
Our inability to cease our whining
And come before God
In repentance

You would think that after much time

After much bloodshed and loss

After we have fully examined

Our finiteness

That we would turn

In rapid abandonment to God

Not so

We still look

We still hope

We still set our faces and our hearts

Toward pleasure, satisfaction, comfort

Rather than righteousness, purity, love

"And the day bleeds into nightfall"

And there is no one able to stop it

It's a heart condition

Which holds us back

From the way things should be

Our hearts are not right

They are not set on the right things

They are deceitful and wayward

And we follow them

Unto the tragedies of our own making

But I tell you the Truth

I know a Man who came

To set things right

To make the heart Pure

To cause the heart to desire Righteousness

And Goodness and Mercy

But we are so very far from

All that the Man came to bring

We won’t be given any more chances

Before the holocaust begins

Because the more grace extended

The more will be lost

Tidy up your homes

Renew your vows to your loved ones

Count the cost of your cowardice

And remember that every day up until this day

You had the opportunity to repent before a Holy God

So that the repercussions of these days

Would not thoroughly destroy you

“. . . the day bleeds Into nightfall”

And the banner of the Righteous will read
