WORD

A penny for your thoughts?
Perhaps, a verse to quiet the speculation
Man rules the earth with money
He hoards, he deals, he gambles, he wastes
while the poor beg for bread
The Righteous are fed from Heaven
for few will give to support True Justice

Come thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to know Thy Will

Psalm 12 affords us a place and time
to call upon God to prevail

Help, Lord, for no one is faithful anymore;
    those who are loyal have vanished from the human race
Everyone lies to their neighbor;
    they flatter with their lips
    but harbor deception in their hearts.
May the Lord silence all flattering lips
    and every boastful tongue—
those who say,
    “By our tongues we will prevail;
    our own lips will defend us—who is lord over us?”
“Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan,
    I will now arise,” says the Lord.
    “I will protect them from those who malign them.”
And the words of the Lord are flawless,
    like silver purified in a crucible,
    like gold refined seven times.
You, Lord, will keep the needy safe
    and will protect us forever from the wicked,
who freely strut about
    when what is vile is honored by the human race.

Don't give up, I tell my soul daily
Wait on the Lord and pursue good
for in due time, Salvation will come
and God will prove Himself the Victor
over all that steals our hearts from Him
