PRAYERS

ONE
"'I pray, Lord God of Heaven,

O Great and Awesome God,

You who keep Your Covenant and mercy

with those who love You

and observe Your commandments,

please let Your ear be attentive

and Your eyes open,

that You may hear the prayer of Your servant

which I pray before You now, day and night,

for the children of Israel Your servants,

and confess the sins of the children of Israel

which we have sinned against You.

Both my father's house and I have sinned.

We have acted corruptly against You,

and have not kept the commandments,

the statutes, nor the ordinances which You

commanded Your servant, Moses.

Remember, I pray, the word that You commanded

Your servant Moses, saying,

'If you are unfaithful,

I will scatter you among the nations;

but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments

and do them, though some of you were cast out

to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather

them from there, and bring them to the place

which I have chosen as a dwelling for My Name.'

Now, these are Your servants and Your people,

whom You have redeemed by Your great Power,

and by Your strong Hand.  O Lord, I pray,

please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer

of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants

who desire to fear Your Name; and let Your

servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy

in the sight of this man."

For I was the king's cupbearer."

Nehemiah 1

TWO
We pray, O Lord, that:

"the earth will be filled with the knowledge

of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea."

Habakkuk 2:14

THREE
"Stand up and bless the Lord your God

forever and ever . . ."

Nehemiah 9:5-38

Teach us to Covenant with You, once more

Teach us to obey Your Word

for we are Your people

May we, once more, praise You

before all the earth for Your Great Wonders

May our deliverance from our enemies

bring forth Your Reign

forever and ever

FOUR
"For the children of Israel shall abide many days,

without king or prince, without sacrifice

or sacred pillar, without ephod or teraphim.

Afterward the children of Israel shall return

and seek the Lord their God and David their king.

They shall fear the Lord and His Goodness

in the latter days."

Hosea 3

Lord God, we ask You to remove our harlotry,

our wayward ways

You fashioned us to know You, to love You, to be Your people

May we now seek You with our whole hearts as a bride

seeks her groom

Bind us to Your Heart and remove from us

all that turns our heart from You

May we be Your Love once more and fear You

as You are God of the Heavens,

Sovereign and Mighty to save

FIVE
"Then Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord

who had sent him, and all the signs which He had

commanded him.  Then Moses and Aaron went

and gathered together all the elders

 of the children of Israel.

And Aaron spoke all the words which the Lord

had spoken to Moses.  Then he did the signs

in the sight of the people.  So the people believed;

and when they heard that the Lord had visited

the children of Israel and that He had looked

on their affliction, then they bowed their heads

and worshiped."

Exodus 4

O Lord, may we become people who do not need "signs"

to believe in Your Power and Your Might

May we know Your Heart, that it is loving and kind

toward us and our afflictions

Grant us that we may know Your Presence amongst us

May our hearts ever be turned toward You

in loving worship

For, indeed, You are Great and Greatly to be Praised!

SIX
"When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord,

the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets,

and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals,

to praise the Lord, according to the ordinance

of David king of Israel.  And they sang responsively,

praising and giving thanks to the Lord:

'For He is good,

For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.'

Then all the people shouted with a great shout,

when they praised the Lord,

because the foundation of the house of the Lord

was laid."

Ezra 3

Lord God, You are the Foundation

You are to be the House

May we come into Your Holy Temple

and worship You as You deserve

Lay Your Foundation, Your Laws of Love,

within our hearts and surely

we will rise up and bring You Praise

May we be worthy of Your great and everlasting

mercy shown to all of Israel

Guide us

Protect us

Be to us, our King, our Reigning Lord

Be to us, our Redeemer

Make us ready for the Savior of our souls

Make us Your people, to whom, we may be

the Voice of Your Praise to all the earth

Abide with us, King of Kings

SEVEN

"Then he showed me Joshua the high priest

standing before the Angel of the Lord,

and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.

And the Lord said to Satan,

'The Lord rebuke you, Satan!

The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you!

Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?'

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments,

and was standing before the Angel.

Then He answered and spoke to those

who stood before Him, saying,

'Take away the filthy garments from him.'

And to him He said,

'See, I have removed your iniquity from you,

and I will clothe you with rich robes.'"

Zechariah 3

Clothe us in Your Righteousness, Lord God

that we may profess Your Power over Satan

Rebuke the destroyer from our land, from our house,

from our eyes and ears

that we may now see You and hear You

and ask to be cleansed by Your Righteous Blood

shed for us

Make us Your people once more

soul of Your Soul

heart of Your Heart

blood of Your Blood

Cleansed, Redeemed, Righteous

Pleasing in Your Sight

An Honor to Your Name

EIGHT
"The Mighty One, God the Lord,

has spoken and called the earth

from the rising of the sun to its going down.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,

God will shine forth.

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent;

A fire shall devour before Him,

And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.

He shall call to the Heavens from above,

and to the earth, that He may judge His people;

'Gather My saints together to Me,

those who have made a Covenant with Me by sacrifice.'

Let the Heavens declare His Righteousness,

For God Himself is Judge.

'Hear, O My people, and I will speak,

O Israel, and I will testify against you;

I am God, your God!

I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices

or your burnt offerings,

which are continually before Me.

I will not take a bull from your house,

nor goats out of your folds.

For every beast of the forest is Mine,

and the cattle on a thousand hills.

I know all the birds of the mountains,

and the wilds beasts of the field are Mine.

If I were hungry, I would not tell you;

For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.

Will I eat the flesh of bulls,

or drink the blood of goats?

Offer to God thanksgiving,

and pay your vows to the Most High.

Call upon Me in the day of trouble;

I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.'"

Psalm 50

We offer ourselves to You, anew, this day, Lord God

and we ask You to cause us to pay our vows to You

We call upon Your Name, for surely this is

a day of great trouble

and we ask for Your Deliverance, Your Saving Grace

to gather us unto You, bind up our wounds

and protect us from those who hate us

We are Your people and we will now

pay our vows to You

May we bring You great Glory across this earth

for surely You will deliver and save all

who call upon Your Name

NINE
"Who can discern his lapses and errors?

Clear me from hidden faults.

Keep back Your servant also

from presumptuous sins;

let them not have dominion over me!

Then shall I be blameless, and I shall be innocent

and clear of great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation

of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord,

my Rock and my Redeemer."

Psalm 20

May we become as children once more

in Your Faithful and Loving Care

Return us to innocence that we may abide where You are

Wash us clean of all sins, known and unknown

May all our words be pleasing to You

for we are the people of Your Glory

Your treasured possession

forever

TEN
"'Do not fear;

Zion, let not your hands we weak.

The Lord your God in your midst,

The Mighty One will save;

He will rejoice over you with gladness,

He will quiet you with His love,

He will rejoice over you with singing.'

"I will gather those who sorrow

over the appointed assembly,

who are among you,

to whom its reproach is a burden.

Behold, at that time

I will deal with all who afflict you;

I will save the lame,

and gather those who were driven out;

I will appoint them for praise and fame

in every land where they were put to shame.

At that time I will bring you back,

Even at the time I gather you;

for I will give you fame and praise

among all the peoples of the earth,

when I return your captives before your eyes,'

says the Lord."

Zephaniah 3

So be it.
