DAY 9 -- 09/15/09
“How can we hope to obtain, if it be possible, forgiveness from Heaven for the enormous evils we have committed if we refuse to make use of those means which the mercy of Providence has still reserved for us for wiping away the shame and guilt with which we are now covered?. . . . .
Shall we not count the days and hours that are suffered to intervene and to delay the accomplishment of such a work?”
-William PItt, Prime Minister of England, 1792 -- “Amazing Grace” by Eric Metaxas
William PItt spoke of slavery and the countless lives which were destroyed daily, hourly, minute by minute without restitution. And so we sit, centuries later and realize the battle which ensued to stop the slave traffic, and yet, we draw no parallel. Are we forever not committed to the change which must take place in our own hearts to stop the death of the innocent in our time?
Presently close to four thousand children are murdered daily on American soil simply because they are unwanted by their mothers. (They are not truly unwanted; however, for thousands seek to adopt children and there are not enough children available . . . because they are killed) There are advocates who fight this slaughter and many who realize that this is a holocaust of epic proportions, but the common man and woman of these United States stands not to stop this “death march.” It’s about to become much worse, due to our apathy and neglect. How can we ignore the death of the innocent when we will now be required to pay for these murders?
“In July 2007, Barack Obama promised a group of his supporters that, if elected president, he would sign perhaps the most evil piece of legislation in the history of our republic.
It's called the ‘Freedom of Choice Act,’ or FOCA -- but don't let the Orwellian title fool you. It isn't about ‘freedom’ or ‘choice’ at all. It's about forcing each and every American citizen -- regardless of his or her view on abortion -- to support abortion-on-demand not just as a ‘fundamental right’ but as a taxpayer-funded entitlement.
But the compulsion wouldn't stop there. Because FOCA would also run roughshod over the conscience rights of doctors, nurses, and hospitals that oppose abortion on religious or moral grounds -- forcing them to provide or counsel for abortion or face professional de-certification, loss of funding, lawsuits, and even prosecution.
Not only that, FOCA would immediately strike down any and all state restrictions on abortion -- even those with wide popular support, such as prohibitions on partial-birth abortion and parental notification requirements for minors seeking abortions.
Make no mistake: FOCA is the most radical piece of pro-abortion legislation ever proposed, one that would go far beyond Roe v. Wade in making abortion a government-protected and taxpayer-supported ‘right,’ through all nine months of pregnancy.”
-Mike Huckabee
“Choose today which side of the war you will be on. Today passes and the next and the next and the innocent are snuffed out by the very people who created them . . . soon, to be paid for by all American citizens. How much of your hard-earned money will go toward killing babies? How much of this holocaust do you believe that you are accountable for? How much will I hold you accountable? Listen to My Heartbeat. It beats for each of the lives lost. How can I not bring Justice? And how will Justice come?”
