LET THEM LIVE

a smile ~ a tear
laughter swells within
What will my first hug feel like?
Will I be loved?
Will I learn to walk ~ to play?
Who will be my friends?
Two small hands, I have
and one day I will hold the hand
of my mother, my father, a friend
I will run and play
I know I will
I love the sound of mother's heartbeat
It tells me that everything is well ~ as it should be
I am safe
I have great hope!

Hey! Who's pushing me?
I am being squeezed all over
I have to go through . . . . there????

Here I go!!!

What is that brightness ~ is it light?

Now . . .
darkness
pain
tremendous pain

All hopes are gone
no smiles ~ no tears
I wasn't loved
no one will hold my hand
no one will help me walk
  no one will hold me close
  no more heartbeat to hear

. . . before
my young heart stops
I hear
clear as day:

"It's over now.  You won't have to worry about it anymore.
It's been taken care of . . ."

When is murder no longer
called, "murder"?
When there is no voice

when abortion, my mother chose
God's Hand was upon me
and I ask that God's Hand
be put upon all the children
in the womb
for God's Purposes
to be complete
