A STAR IS BORN
A STAR IS BORN
The deepest of regret
Flows through her heart
But that will not bring back
The one she loves
It can’t bring him back
She followed a lesser god,
An inept dream to stardom
But at the loss of the one she loves
And who does this remind you of,
But the Church
She follows lesser gods to gain
Fame, recognition, fortune
At the loss of the King and His Love
She has little regret, however,
For she has gained everything she wanted
Everything is at her fingertips
And the God she once loved
Is looked upon as a fool, a servant of hers
We suffer in these times
To put a name on true and lasting love
We want to call it faithfulness,
But do we even know the meaning
Of that word?
Our God is Faithful
He went to the Cross
Knowing how we would betray Him
And make light of His teachings,
How we would put a hundred different
Things ahead of Him in our hearts
How we would defame His Name
With our curses and pretenses
But His Love still bore all our sins
He still looked in the future
For His Bride
For His Faithful, abiding, selfless Bride
And today, He still looks
He waits . . .
He longs for her,
As we should long for Him
And His Song is never ending
That calls her from her shallow world
To come . . . Home
To be born again
To be born anew
To be Heart of His Heart
Soul of His Soul
Spirit of His Spirit
A SHINING STAR . . .
to REFLECT HIS GLORY
