What Would Ted Want?

By obligation and obedience to God I am a peruser of the Internet to find, discover, merit those who are walking closely with God and obediently pursuing Him.

Many months ago I came across the Free Methodist Church Prayer Ministry and was impressed by their sincerity of purpose, along with their deep seated knowledge of how prayer works and the type of prayer God responds to.

October 1st of 2018, one of their leaders transitioned to Glory. He was a man in the prime of life, still with active promises from God to be fulfilled. God gave me the following "word" for him:

“Open the gate

So that the horse may enter

Hold open, wide open

The gate to Paradise

For in a moment of time

A young soldier enters

Atop the Great Steed

He has accomplished his mission

He was found to be

Faithful and true

And yet, the world weeps

With the news of his transition

‘He was still young . . .

He was needed . . .

He was a tower we ran to

For protection

He was godly strength

and wisdom

He cared, he really cared

for each of us’

No one was deemed unworthy

Of his time, his prayers, his energy

And yet, he is now gone

And all we know is sorrow

and loss

Why does this earth hold such

Great and lasting losses?

Why are we left alone

And good people taken

When we all need so much help?

I rest in sorrow

Waiting for peace to come

If only it would come

With the backward turn of time

And I would have time to plead

Before God for my friend

To stay here awhile longer

I would plead and pray

without ceasing

But it is not to be

He suffered not on his departure

He knew not the pain he would leave

In the hearts of those who loved him

He enters in fully

To all that the Kingdom offers

And he is well, oh so well

With no lack

And we wonder, wonder still

Why did he leave the race

so early?

What is God’s Plan?

Why does it seem wrong to us

Still here?

We place our sorrow, our tears,

Our memories of times together,

Our love for him and his love

for us

At the Feet of Jesus

And we pray, oh how we pray

For Redemption, for New Life

To be able to hope again

He will not be forgotten

We carry him in our hearts

Each one of us yearn for the day

When we will see him again

But for now, for this time,

We rise up to honor him

As he honored each one of us

With his time, his prayers,

his devotion and love.

Thank you, Ted

Thank you for running the race

so well that our hearts are changed

by knowing you

Thank you for your boundless energy

to help and to serve

You brought forth a banner of

Excellence that we long to replicate

We will see you soon

And until that time,

May God grant us

to live our lives so full

Of His Holy Spirit

That we will know the thrill

Of a conquering hero

That you set forth in stone.

To the Resurrection!

Isaiah 26
-The Great Steed

I had never met Ted nor corresponded with him. I did not know him or his family. I had never attended his church or any of the Free Methodist prayer meetings. But God put the words in my spirit and I wrote them.

Today the loss of Ted is still great on this earth. There is a group continuing his passion for prayer. There are many who walk uprightly, in close relationship with God, because of Ted's words to them and his prayers for them.

He was / IS a man of great impact in the spiritual world. He may be absent from this earth in a physical way, but in so many ways, in so many lives, he is still present.  He is interceding even now on behalf of his loved ones and the many who would follow God, sacrificing all.

Why now?  Why is it important to bring up Ted at this time, months after his passing?

The words that I had written concerning Ted have been removed from Facebook accounts. The comments I made concerning his walk with God and the book he inspired also removed. And I don't believe that is what Ted would want.

He crossed this earth with abandon. He sought the weary, the downtrodden, the ones on the outskirts, the marginalized to give a hug, a word of encouragement, his smile which meant that God planned for all of us to be redeemed, to belong. He didn't separate people to judge, but embraced all he could.

So, as the days pass and his friends and family earnestly attempt to carry on his passion, I would admonish you, if you truly want to do as Ted would want, carry on His Love. Don't leave people out because you don't understand them or don't take the time to know them. Love them or you disgrace his name and his passion for bringing everyone into the flock to have a whole, complete family.

Just saying that Ted was all about the Father's Love and the removal of the words given about him and the subsequent shunning . . . is the opposite of love, it's hatred.

Ted was a man who believed in destiny. He was a man focused on bringing God's Kingdom here right now.  And that is still who he is and his desires. Make him proud! Don't just pray for people, really, really love them until they can say wholeheartedly that your love for them, the Father's Love through you, brought them into the safety of His Kingdom.

"The pieces of a story

Are often spread far and wide

We gather them into a tight bundle

And begin the tale

But it is not always

That easy

For lives have been affected

Circumstances have changed

People have grown hardened

New desires have surfaced

We must do justice

To lives who have passed to Glory

We must tell their story

In Honor, reflecting their true desires

We must enliven and broaden

And strengthen their legacy

And for that

There must be heavenly insight

Ted was / IS still a man of prayer

An upright warrior in all rights

Beseeching My Throne with passion

But as the days pass on this earth

The tale must also be told

Of his love for those left out

Those who don't feel as though they belong

Those treated with disrespect

Those shunned

Those forgotten or ignored

Those you pass by and look right through

Those even who obey Me

With full hearts of love

But are despised for revealing Truth

If you choose to Honor Ted

Truly Honor him

Don't pick and choose of his passions

Take on the full scope of his mission

And LOVE, a deep seated, sacrificial,

Laying down your own lives

Type LOVE

to further his Mission, His Legacy

or you're just telling part of his story

You're only clanging cymbals.

LOVE!
