ANOTHER DRINK, PLEASE!

6 am
The prayer room is quiet
The people are fervently seeking GOD'S Face
The atmosphere is solemn
I enter~~~unable to walk steadily
I look upon the faces of the people
and uncontrollable laughter erupts from my being
PIERCING THE QUIET
I turn to leave the room
to regroup and reflect on my actions
As I sit outside the room
I beg God for an explanation
for the result of
His Indwelling PRESENCE
"What are You doing?"
He doesn't reply, but I can see Him laughing
with total DELIGHT
I complain
"You are NOT helping me!"
When I think I am in control again
I return to the room
The atmosphere has not changed
They are a faithful (boring) people seeking GOD
His Ways - His Desires
Why is GOD disrupting them through me?
I want to leave
He says I must stay
I check the clock often
hoping we'll be dismissed early

Resolutely~~~
I make the best of the situation
I relax - stop looking at those around me
Yield to the Holy Spirit
&
Simply
ENJOY HIS PRESENCE
in this sublime form
of Divine Humor!

Sometimes, I believe
GOD
just wants our attention
He doesn't care in what form or who will be disturbed
He only cares that
HIS PRESENCE
is made known

When His JOY
penetrates the senses
&
overwhelms the body and mind
He can finally touch the heart
where the spirit lies and cries out to be
SET COMPLETELY FREE!!!

GOD, I was embarrassed!
I've never acted like that before!
I have faithfully followed my "Christian standard"
of conduct for years
"Always Blend In"

But You know what?
I learned that Your JOY is so much MORE FUN
than my stoic, reserved existence
and all my ridiculous, binding standards of conduct!
MAKE ME DRUNK, GOD!!!
I'll yield next time unabashedly!
Your
PRESENCE
is a Gift
and
I will take ALL that You offer!
I have experienced Your UNSPEAKABLE JOY
in physical expression
